I define a small job as one which takes 1-2 days total to complete either on its own or in combination with other small jobs. These jobs include things like:
- Upgrading an existing kitchen or bathroom faucet
- Replacing an existing toilet
- Replacing existing light fixtures
- Replacing broken electrical switches or outlets
- Installing new cabinet hardware
- Upgrading a bathroom vanity
- Painting a small or medium sized room
- Servicing interior and exterior doors to end squeaks and ensure proper closing
- Repairing double hung windows which won’t stay open
- Replacing a garbage disposal
- Performing routine maintenance on a clothes dryer to improve performance
- Replacing an existing dishwasher or water heater
- Installing security cameras or systems such as Blink or SimpliSafe
This list is nowhere near exhaustive, and if you have any doubt please ask. It’s likely I can and will be happy to take on your task. Also, while I am happy to tackle all small jobs, I do prefer to take on at least a half day of work. That’s usually not a problem, as I find most folks have multiple items on their list which can usually be remedied more quickly and affordably than they thought. We can walk through a “Honey-do” inspection checklist and see if any of the most common homeowner woes apply to your situation.
What is a medium job?
I define a medium job as one which takes 2-7 days to complete, and often involves multiple phases and possibly a dumpster to complete. These types of jobs might include:
- Installing new solid surface flooring
- Upgrading a full bathroom (not a full down to studs remodel)
- Replacing existing stairs to a deck
- Replacing main floor existing windows (I use Jeldwyn)
- Repainting a full house interior or exterior
- Upgrading a kitchen with no movement of plumbing or electrical and minimal drywall work
- Upgrading baseboards
